Product Information The Bullet DVR SOLO GPS unit contains a powerful ARM9 microprocessor running a Linux operating system. It features a built-in Lap-timer and GPS data logger which can also overlay the data on top of your video recordings, in real time synch. Also available is an optional Accelerometer Data Module. Built-in 2.4" LCD Screen lets you configure the unit and adjust your camera angle quickly and easily, without the need for a PC. An infra-red lap timer is also built-into the unit. All the electronics are housed inside an aluminum enclosure, using a very small form factor. A special jack, with a quick-connect mechanism, lets you hook up the video cable in a snap. Simply push-in the connector to lock into place! We do not use cheap connectors that may become loose and disconnected under vibrations. This cable provides both the video signal and DC power for the camera, so you don't need to provide an external power supply for the camera, making for a very clean and simple installation. The whole system is powered directly from a built-in, rechargeable Lithium-polymer battery pack. It is totally independent and can run on its own, but can also be powered from any 12VDC source if needed. There is a built-in audio microphone to capture ambient sound, or you may also connect an optional Stereo Mic externally (Select Below). The unit also features a LANC jack, for connecting a special wired remote controller (sold separately), which allows you to operate the DVR remotely, at the simple push of a button (Add an optional LANC remote below). Video and data are stored directly to a Compact Flash (CF) memory card (2GB included with the unit). Playback requires a computer, which can be MAC or PC. The Bullet DVR Solo GPS is the only recording unit on the market offering you the choice of either MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 video recordings, at a high bitrate of up to 10 Mb/S, at full screen resolution (D1) and full frame rate. The Bullet DVR Solo GPS unit is compatible with NTSC, PAL and SECAM standards, for use around the world. Unlike the competition, The Bullet DVR camera is not just a simple camera designed for use in security systems. Our camera has improved features you will not find anywhere else. The whole camera body is made from aircraft-grade aluminum, greatly helping to dissipate internal heat. The whole camera is fully sealed and waterproof, and attaches to the DVR unit via a strain-reliefed cable for maximum protection. It can be used in the rain, mud or snow without worries of fogging up due to condensation problems. The output cable features a RCA plug for video, and a 2.1mm DC connector for powering up the camera off any 12VDC source. The optical lens is secured behind a clear protective glass, housed inside and removable cap which allows you to swap the standard 3.6mm lens (92 degrees angle-of-view) for one of the many optional lenses available, to better suit your requirements. The O-ring tight compartment makes it a breeze to change the lens without the need for any special tools. The back housing of the camera features a strain-relief video cable, in place of the traditional tripod mount found on other bullet cameras. The tripod mount leaves no room for the output cable, which means the cable is located at the very edge of the camera body, resulting too often in a pinched or cut cable when not just pulled out entirely from the enclosure. The Bullet DVR"! camera improves on this very weak point by replacing the not-required tripod mount for a much needed pull-resistant feature.. Bullet DVR cameras can be ordered with various CCD image sensors, which provide various output resolutions and perform differently in low light conditions. The standard camera is the 450TVL version, which performs good under normal conditions. You can upgrade it to one of our other versions (up to 580 TV lines), to better suit your requirements. *Select camera options before ordering at bottom of this page GPS Built-In: This very compact GPS receiver plugs into the DVR unit and allows you to log GPS data, in full synch with the recorded video. The GPS has a fairly fast refresh rate of 5 Hz, and stores important information like longitude, latitude, heading and speed. The data can be overlaid on-screen, in real-time with the recorded video, or stored to memory card for later use with 3rd party software applications, to draw track maps and spice up your videos. The Bullet DVR"! application can convert the stored GPS data into compatible data to be used with Google earth, TrackVision and others. Features a magnetic base so you can install it on a car roof or any metallic surface quickly and easily. The Infra-Red Receiver is used to log lap timing information, and to receive commands sent from the wireless remote. The IR frequency used for lap timing is compatible with timing beacons (emitter) from other systems such as AiM, Alfano, XT Racing, etc. The Bullet DVR"! system does not come with its own beacon, but will work with most other brands on the market. Built-in Lap-timer records information directly to the memory card for later review, and can also be super-imposed On-Screen over the recorded video (OSD). It will show you the current lap time, as well as the previous lap time and best overall time for any given session. The built-in laptimer also supports up to 4 split times, for timing individual sections of the racetrack, so that you can monitor your progress on a specific part of the circuit, instead of the usual lap time for one complete lap. The standard cable length of the Lap-timer IR receiver is 110cm (40 in.), for positioning the receiver on the vehicle to face the signal sent from the trackside beacon. You can order different lengths of extension if needed. The Infra-Red Remote Control is used to control the Bullet DVR"! unit. You can use it to Start/Stop recording, or to change any of the configuration parameters when connected to a TV or monitor. Network Adapter Cable (Ethernet) is supplied with the Solo GPS and H.264 DVR, and lets you transfer the files contained on the memory card directly to your computer, via a network card, switch or router. Input Cable: CBL-01 video cable features a quick-connect plug that attaches to the Solo GPS or H.264 DVR, and provides connections for any composite video source (via RCA), a 3.5mm stereo input jack and a 2.1mm DC connector to power up any bullet cam or accessory directly off the DVR battery. The Bullet DVR"! unit comes pre-packaged with a 2 Gb size, Compact Flash (CF) memory card. It is enough to record between 30 minutes and 3 hours of video, depending on the selected resolution setting. You can upgrade the capacity of the card up to 32 Gb. AC Adapter for testing the Bullet DVR"! system at home or in the shop. It allows you charge the internal battery and power up the system using any wall outlet instead of drawing the power from your vehicle's 12V battery. Windows PC Software contains all the tools you need to configure the DVR unit and manage a race team from A-to-Z. The CD includes an in-depth User s Manual for a detailed description of each button and settings, along with the Bullet DVR"! configuration utility, a program used for adjusting every possible parameters of the unit. Also included is a copy of the award-winning software VLC Media Player, and the powerful TrackTimer"! software, a superb application that lets you manage every aspect of your race team, from vehicle setup to lap timing and onboard videos, plus much more.
